Fruiting Bodies plays with Dana Sipos and Abigail Lapell

This coming Friday we’ll be playing a show with an AMAZING line up. We’re honoured to be sharing the stage with Dana Sipos, Abigail Lapell, and Common Holly, as part of Dana and Abigail’s Lowlands Tour. Be prepared to melt into dreamy little puddles on the floor.

Where: Le Cagibi – 5490 St-Laurent
When: Friday, December 2nd – show starts at 8:30pm
Cover: $8

October shows

Happy autumn!

We are participating in two shows this week:

THURSDAY OCTOBER 27TH:
The Magician’s Mirror – Kyazma’s LP Release / Troll Market Costume Party!
At Casa Del Popolo: 4873 St-Laurent
Doors open at 8pm. We will be part of a performance series with a quick improvised set at around 8:30. Kyazma goes on around 10:30.
$7 at the door, or Free entrance with the purchase of a Kyazma Vinyl

FRIDAY OCTOBER 28TH:
Zombie Apocalypse at the Greenhouse!
At the Concordia Greenhouse: 1455 de Maisonneuve West – get to the 12th floor and follow the signs to the right stairwell taking you to the 13th floor greenhouse.
Event is 7pm-10:30pm – We will be playing an earlier set, around 8 or 9pm.
$5 at the door, snacks and tea included

Upcoming Shows

Hello all!!

We’ve been collaborating recently with Coralie Gauthier, the talented harpist who played on our album, to arrange
harp parts for songs of ours that didn’t have them before, new covers and themed improvisations.

Come check out what we’ve been working on at our upcoming shows!

– Tuesday March 29th 8pm, Casa del Popolo with Swamp Wolf

– Saturday April 23rd 8pm sharp-9pm at Anticafe with Eleuthera doing a set of her solo soul/blues music with a back-up band from 9-10pm

– Saturday May 28th 12-2pm at La Place Commune (note that for this show only some members of Fruiting Bodies will be performing: Eleuthera and Coralie.  It will be an entirely improvised set with potential guest musicians.

– Sunday June 5th house show, 8:30pm doors, 9:30pm show, 2521 Augustin-Cantin (close to Lionel Groulx metro). Fruiting Bodies will be opening up the evening, followed by Reve d’horizon and Ostrea Lake  $7

“Feathers” Music Video Shoot

December 2015 Fruiting Bodies shot a music video for a favourite cover of ours, “Feathers” by Man Man. We will be releasing the video in the next couple weeks!!

We invited the talented Jamie Klinger to join us and photograph the shoot – what a gift.

Fluid Blues music video!

We’re pleased to announce that we’re officially releasing our first music video!!  It’s of Fluid Blues, the first song that we arranged together, and was shot in Cape Breton during our East Coast tour.

In other news we’ve been collaborating with the lovely Coralie Gauthier who played harp on our album and have fresh new inspiration flowing through us.  We recently shot a music video with her that we’ll be releasing next month, and some shows may be up our sleeves…

Shows with the Contes et Chant community

soirées contes et chantWe have two shows coming up, as part of the Soirées contes et chant series.

Thursday August 27th we play an intimate cafe show to open up the story-telling season.  7pm at Brûlerie Café-Crème, 911 boul. Roland-Therrien, Longeuil. Cover: $12

Friday Sept 25th we play again at Théâtre de l’Esquisse (Salle L’Imprévu), 4333 Marquette, near Marianne East, as part of les journées de la culture.  7:30pm, by donation

For both of these shows we’ll be joined by the lovely Coralie Gauthier on harp.
